Privacy Policy

We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to quote and complete your project, and we don't sell your information.

Last updated: September 28, 2026

01 Who we are

Obsidian Epoxy Ltd. ("Obsidian Epoxy", "we", "us") provides epoxy and polyaspartic flooring services across Alberta, Canada. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our website and when you contact us about a project. We follow applicable Canadian privacy law, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

02 Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit our quote request form, or call, text or email us, you may provide:

  • Your name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Project details you choose to share in your message, such as the type and approximate size of the space, and its general location

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, standard technical information is collected through Google's advertising and measurement tools (see "Cookies & analytics" below). This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site (for example, from a Google ad), and whether you completed a quote request.

03 How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your quote request and communicate with you about your project
  • Prepare estimates, schedule work, and deliver and follow up on our services
  • Measure how well our website and advertising perform, and improve them
  • Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

We only use your information for the purposes it was collected for, or for purposes a reasonable person would expect. We do not sell your personal information.

04 Cookies & analytics

Our website uses the Google tag (Google Ads conversion tracking). It sets cookies and similar technologies that help us understand which of our ads lead to quote requests, so we can spend our advertising budget effectively. On the "request received" page shown after you submit the form, we record a conversion event; we also use your browser's session storage to avoid counting the same visit twice.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them when a page loads.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and manage Google's ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

05 Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:

  • Formspree — processes and delivers the messages submitted through our quote request form to us. See Formspree's privacy policy.
  • Google — provides advertising, conversion measurement and font delivery, as described above.
  • Professional advisors and authorities — such as our accountant or legal counsel, or where we are required to disclose information by law.

Some of these providers are located in, or store data in, the United States or other countries outside Canada. Your information may therefore be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including access by their courts and authorities.

Our website links to our Instagram page. Once you leave our site, that platform's own privacy practices apply.

06 Storage & retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting access to those who need it to do their job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above or as required by law (for example, for tax and warranty records). After that, we securely delete it or anonymize it.

07 Your choices & rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it is used
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it for legal or contractual reasons
  • Opt out of marketing messages at any time

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

08 Children

Our services and website are intended for property owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

09 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
